We, Monika and Peter Pehr, are living in Sparneck in beautiful Bavaria.
Our Ridgeback male Spencer, the females Happy, Alita and Happy's daughter Khamibelong to our family.
We saw our first Ridgebacks in the year 1997, during an Arabian horse show, and were immediately absolutely enthusiastic. After we have informed us about this breed it was certain for us: the Ridgeback is the right dog for us. In summer 1998, nearly one year later Kimba came to us as a puppy of 9 weeks of age. Kimba died at the age of almost 15 years, on 31. January 2013.
At the end of the year 2000, our Kennel name was registered: Thuraia, this means translated "Star of my life".In spring 2001 Kimba got her first litter. The sire was the Canadian male Yankee (Witches LeCreme's Trick). From this litter we kept her daughter Alika. Her second litter two years later was by Aliko (Tumalanga Aliko).
Alika had her first litter in 2004 by Jack (Eilack Thsombe).Two years later we planned Alika's second litter - a insemination with frozen semen by Austr.Gr.Ch. Axle (Skiska Solitaire Jest). Tinity was theresult of this insemination, and of course we kept her.
In March 2009 Ben came from Croatia to us. He is a marvelous dog!
From our G-litter in the year 2011 we kept a male puppy - Spencer.
Alika died in Mai 2014 at the age of over 13 years.
In July 2014 Ginny came to us. She was bred in Kennel Kianga / Switzerland and she is a daughter of Trinity's halfsister Etana from our E-litter.
Ben died in December 2015, suddenly and totally unexpected at the age of 10 1/2 years.
In 2018 Ginny had her first litter and we kept a daughter - Happy.
2019 Trinity died at the age of over 13 years.
In 2020 we made a insemination with frozen seme of our Ben - Ginny gave birth to 8 wonderful puppies. From this litter we kept Alita.
Ginny died in 2023 and she leaves a big gap but also two of her wonderful daughters.
In 2024 Happy had her second litter (insemiantion with frozen semen of our Ben) and from this litter we kept Khami.
Spencer, Happy, Alita and Khami are an integral part of our family.

My cynological career began when my husband and I brought our Kimba home with us in 1998. I became more and more fascinated by the Rhodesian Ridgeback breed and began to study it intensively.
Since I had already studied the pedigrees of Arabian horses before, it made sense to also look into the pedigrees of Rhodesian Ridgebacks, regardless of whether I ever bred them or not. This resulted in an extensive database that was initially limited primarily to dogs bred in Germany and their ancestors.
Dadurch, dass Kimba nach Deutschland importiert wurde hatte ich nun auch Kontakte ins Ausland, und als ich im Jahr 2001 mit Kimba nach Dänemark zum Decken fuhr erweiterten sich meine Kontakte immer weiter. So kamen dann auch die Daten skandinavischer Hunde dazu und im Herbst 2001 stellte ich meine Daten der Öffentlichkeit zur Verfügung in dem ich sie mit Hilfe von Freunden ins Internet stellte. Damals waren in dieser Datenbank etwas über 20.000 Hunde eingetragen. Unter den Namen Rhodesian Ridgeback Pedigree Search wurde sie weltweit bekannt und mit Hilfe vieler Züchter aus dem In-und Ausland ich diese Datenbank nun auf über 110.000 Einträgen angewachsen.
Because Kimba was imported to Germany, I now had contacts abroad, and when I took Kimba to Denmark in 2001 to be mated, my contacts continued to expand. This is how data of Scandinavian dogs were added. In autumn 2001 I made my data available to the public by putting it online with the help of friends. At that time, there were just over 20.000 dogs registered in this database. It became known worldwide under the name Rhodesian Ridgeback Pedigree Search, and with the help of many breeders from home and abroad, this database has now grown to over 140.000 entries.
In April 2004 I became the stud book keeper in the E.L.S.A. club. I held this position until April 2005 - when I was appointed breeding manager. From 2007 to 2017 I was the first chairman of the E.L.S.A. club and in 2018 I became breeding manager again. In 2019 I decided to withdraw from active club work and am now only active as a breeding supervisor - a job I have been doing since 2004.
